The Uruguayan government today proposed six amendments to the Collective Bargaining Law, in response to comments from the International Labor Organization (ILO) at its June assembly. The ILO Committee on the Application of Standards asked the country’s Executive to prepare, in consultation with employers and workers, a report to be presented before September 1 on possible changes to legislation regarding the right to join trade unions and negotiation processes.
